Foley, Mattis Named Baseball Pitcher, Player of the Week

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Ethan Foley of Reinhardt and Gary Mattis of Tennessee Wesleyan are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the second edition of the weekly honors for the 2021 season. The next set of awards will be announced on March 15.
AAC Pitcher of the Week
Ethan Foley - Reinhardt - Soph. - Waleska, Ga.
- Pitched 7 innings of 2-hit, shutout ball in a 12-0 win over Bryan.
- Struck out 4 batters while walking none.
- This is his first weekly honor this season.
AAC Player of the Week
Gary Mattis - Tennessee Wesleyan - Jr. - Broward County, Fla.
- Batted .400 with a .867 slugging percentage.
- Had 2 home runs, 8 RBI, and 4 runs scored.
- Launched a walk-off grand slam in a 6-5 win over No. 8 Cumberlands (Ky.).
- Stole 4 bases.
- This is his second weekly award this season.
