2021 Baseball All-Conference Team Announced
KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) announced the 2021 Baseball All-AAC Team and Awards, and Gary Mattis of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Player of the Year.
The awards were voted on and selected by the baseball coaches of the AAC.
Additional individual award winners include Kobe Foster of Tennessee Wesleyan as the Pitcher of the Year, Carson Ford of Tennessee Wesleyan as the Freshman of the Year, Zach Hogueisson of Tennessee Wesleyan as the Newcomer of the Year, and Billy Berry of Tennessee Wesleyan as the Coach of the Year.
Mattis led the AAC in batting average (.418) and home runs (22) and was second in the league in RBI (72). The shortstop is also fourth in the league in stolen bases (25).
