Week 9: AAC Baseball Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Sam Rochard of Tennessee Wesleyan and Luke Powell of Union are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the ninth edition of the weekly honors for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on April 24.
AAC Pitcher of the Week
Sam Rochard - Tennessee Wesleyan - Junior - Williamsburg, Va.
- Struck out 5 in picking up the win in a 12-1 game against Reinhardt.
- Allowed 3 hit and no walks in 6 innings of work.
- This is his second weekly honor this season.
AAC Player of the Week
Luke Powell - Union - Junior - San Clemente, Calif.
- Batted .714 with a 1.714 slugging percentage in helping Union to a 4-0 record on the week, including a 3-game sweep of No. 14 Bryan.
- Tied the program record with 3 home runs in a game.
- Drove in 10 runs and scored 9 times.
- Lined 2 doubles and 4 home runs on the week.
- This is his first weekly award this season.
