Union's Powell Slugs Way to NAIA Player of the Week Honors
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Luke Powell of Union is the NAIA Baseball Player of the Week, the national office announced on Tuesday.
Powell reached base in all five at-bats with a home run and five RBIs against Georgetown (Ky.). He had a streak of six consecutive plate appearances where he reached base then followed that up by homering in three straight at-bats to complete a three-game sweep of 14th-ranked Bryan (Tenn.) this past Saturday. His three homers tied a single-game Union record.
