Five Earn NAIA Football All-American Team Honors
WALESKA, Ga. - JaQuan Ebron of Bluefield and John Cano of Reinhardt earned NAIA Football All-America First Team honors as a total of five Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) student-athletes made the list.
The NAIA announced the All-America Teams on Thursday.
Earning honorable mentions are Aaron Anderson of Point, Keyovione Whitlock of Reinhardt, and Tyler Hallum of Reinhardt.
Ebron, a wide receiver, led the AAC in receiving yards per game at 92.9 as he hauled in 60 catches for 1,022 yards and 14 touchdowns. He had three games with seven receptions and had 110 yards receiving or more in six games. Ebron hauled in a season-high four touchdowns in a 50-26 win over Pikeville (Ky.) as he caught six passes for 149 yards.
Cano, an offensive lineman, anchored the line which paved the way for the Reinhardt offense to average 421.7 yards per game. He opened holes for a 1,000-yard rusher, and the Eagles averaged 34.6 points per game.
Anderson, a linebacker, averaged 8.2 tackles per game, amassing 90 total stops in 11 games. He also recorded 3.0 sacks and 12 tackles for a loss. Anderson registered 10-plus tackles in a game four times with a season-high 17 coming against Reinhardt.
Whitlock, a defensive back, recorded 47 total tackles, intercepted three passes, and broke up two other passes.
Hallum, a defensive back, tied for the league lead in pass breakups with 16. He also intercepted one pass and made 32 total tackles.
