Week 4: AAC Men's Basketball Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Johnny Whysong of Columbia International and JJ Vaughan of Columbia International are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Basketball Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week.
The league announced the awards on Monday.
This is the fourth edition of the awards for the 2025-26 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Dec. 8.
AAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Johnny Whysong - Columbia International - Junior
- Pulled down 19 defensive rebounds, stole 4 balls, and blocked 3 shots during 3 games last week.
- Posted 3 blocks and 2 steals against Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.).
- Averaged 9.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
JJ Vaughan - Columbia International - Senior
- Averaged 20.7 points over 3 games.
- Shot 62.2 percent (23-of-37 shots) from the field and 59.1 percent (13-of-22) from 3-point range.
- Netted 31 points and went 7-for-11 from long range in an 85-76 win over Tennessee Southern.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
