KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Nathan Foskey of the Cumberlands and Jeremiah Loo of Webber International are the NAIA Men's Lacrosse Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week.
Foskey etched his name into the Patriots' record book as he gathered national defensive player of the week honors.
One road trip north is all the senior goalkeeper needed as he wrote his name into the UC men's lacrosse record book in his home state. The Powell, Ohio native, secured 18 saves in an 18-10 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio).
His 18 save performance is headed to the record book of Cumberlands as the sixth most saves in a single game. What's even more impressive is that 11 of these saves came in the second half alone to fend off MVNU's late-game push.
Foskey and the Pat's are back in action on Thursday, March 12, in Waleska, Ga., against No. 4 Reinhardt (Ga.). Opening faceoff is set for 3 p.m.
Loo not only picked up the national offensive player of the week for men's lacrosse, but also secured a new program record for the Warriors last week.
Loo was a staple in the offensive third of the field in both road games last week. He opened the two-game road stretch, putting away four goals against Columbia (Mo.) while assisting on one more. The following day in Ottawa, Kan., is when he really came through. Loo dished out 14 assists in the 28-3 win against the Braves while netting two goals of his own for 16 total points.
His 14-assist performance will go in Webber's record book as a new program record. Overall, Loo picked up eight ground balls and took 19 shots on the weekend.
Webber International is back in action on Thursday, March 12, at Life (Ga.). Opening faceoff is slated for 7 p.m. ET.
