Week 6: AAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Niko Tzevelekos of Reinhardt and Rafael Carneiro of Columbia International are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the sixth edition of the awards for the 2021 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Oct. 11.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Niko Tzevelekos - Reinhardt - Senior - Cumming, Ga.
- Made 10 saves on the week as Reinhardt went 2-0 on the week.
- Allowed only 1 goal in a 2-1, overtime win over Point. Made 4 saves in the win.
- Recorded 6 saves in a 2-0 win against St. Andrews.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Rafael Carneiro - Columbia International - Senior - Salvador, Brazil
- Posted 3 goals on the week in helping Columbia International go 2-0.
- Scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Montreat.
- Deposited 2 goals in a 7-1 win over Bluefield.
- Leads the AAC in goals with 8 on the year.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
