Week 3: AAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Michael Garrihy of Tennessee Wesleyan and Dylan Connell of Tennessee Wesleyan are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the third edition of the awards for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 18.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Michael Garrihy - Tennessee Wesleyan - Senior - Lisdoonvarna, Ireland
- Recorded 1 shutout and 10 saves as Tennessee Wesleyan finished the week 1-0-1.
- Made 3 saves in a 1-1 draw at No. 2 Dalton State (Ga.).
- Tallied 7 saves in a 3-0 win at Montreat.
- This is his second weekly honor of the season.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Dylan Connell - Tennessee Wesleyan - Freshman - Eastbourne, England
- Tallied 3 goals on the week as Tennessee Wesleyan went 1-0-1 on the week.
- Came off the bench to score the equalizer in the 83rd minute against No. 2 Dalton State (Ga.). Game ended in a 1-1 draw.
- Recorded a brace in a 3-0 win at Montreat. Scored twice on 3 shots.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
