Week 7: AAC Men's Volleyball Players of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Gabriel Gutierrez of Reinhardt is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week, while Mamadou Dieng of Bluefield and Rafael Obrusnik of St. Thomas are the Defender and Setter of the Week, respectively.

The league announced the awards on Monday.

This is the seventh edition of the awards for the 2026 season. The next set of awards will be announced on March 23.

AAC Attacker of the Week
Gabriel Gutierrez - Reinhardt - Junior

• Logged 32 kills and averaged 4.57 kills per set.
• Posted a .431 hitting percentage.
• Also had 3 aces, 12 digs, and 4 blocks.
• This is his first weekly honor of the season.

AAC Defender of the Week
Mamadou Dieng - Bluefield - Junior

• Averaged 1.50 blocks per set.
• Had 9 total blocks in 6 sets.
• Also had 13 kills and 1 dig.
• This is his first weekly honor of the season.

AAC Setter of the Week
Rafael Obrusnik - St. Thomas - Junior

• Had 100 assists in 8 sets for a 12.50 average
• Recorded 59 assists in a 3-1 loss to Georgetown.
• Also had 3 kills, 5 aces, 10 digs, and 5 blocks.
• This is his fourth weekly honor of the season.
