Hobbs, Ellis Earn Softball Pitcher, Player of the Week Awards
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Karley Hobbs of Truett McConnell and Tanaya Ellis of Columbia International are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the fourth edition of the weekly honors for the 2021 season. The next set of awards will be announced on March 29.
AAC Pitcher of the Week
Karley Hobbs - Truett McConnell - Jr. - Loganville, Ga.
- Went 2-0 on the week and posted 0.00 ERA.
- Did not allow a run 13 innings pitched.
- Struck out 7 batters on the week.
- Allowed 5 hits and 3 walks on the week.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
AAC Player of the Week
Tanaya Ellis - Columbia International - Soph. - Greer, S.C.
- Batted .500 (8-for-16) with 7 RBI and 9 runs scored in 4 games last week as Columbia International went 4-0.
- Was a part of 15 of CIU's 36 runs scored.
- Had 1 double, 1 triple, and 1 home run for a .875 slugging percentage.
- Stole 4 bases.
- This is her first weekly award this season.
