Wall, Barrett Earn Softball Pitcher, Player of the Week Honors
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Abby Wall of Union and Lauren Barrett of Truett McConnell are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the fifth edition of the weekly honors for the 2021 season. The next set of awards will be announced on April 5.
AAC Pitcher of the Week
Abby Wall - Union - Jr. - Dayton, Tenn.
- Went 3-0 on the week and posted 0.33 ERA.
- Posted back-to-back, complete-game shutouts, including a 3-0 victory over No. 8 Reinhardt.
- Struck out 20 batters on the week.
- Allowed 14 hits and 15 walks on the week.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
AAC Player of the Week
Lauren Barrett - Truett McConnell - Fr. - Jefferson, Ga.
- Batted .563 (9-for-16) with 8 RBI and 9 runs scored in 6 games last week as Truett McConnell went 5-1.
- Was a part of 15 of CIU's 36 runs scored.
- Had 1 double for a .625 slugging percentage.
- This is her first weekly award this season.
