Brenau Sweeps Softball Weekly Honors

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Cameron Dillard and Faith Grooms of Brenau are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the 10th edition of the weekly honors for the 2021 season.

AAC Pitcher of the Week

Cameron Dillard - Brenau - Sr. - Lawrenceville, Ga.

• Went 5-1 on the week in helping Brenau to the AAC Tournament championship.
• Named to the All-Tournament Team.
• Posted a 1.72 ERA on the week with 9 earned runs in 36 2/3 innings pitched.
• Struck out 11 batters.
• This is her first weekly honor this season.

AAC Player of the Week

Faith Grooms - Brenau - Sr. - Cucamonga, Calif.

• Named the Tournament MVP as Brenau went 5-1 in winning the AAC Tournament title.
• Batted .391 with a .783 slugging percentage.
• Had five extra-base hits with 3 double and 2 home runs.
• Drove in 8 RBI and scored 9 runs.
• Went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored in the championship game.
• This is her first weekly award this season.
