2020-21 Women's Basketball All-Conference Team Announced
KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) released the 2020-21 All-AAC Women's Basketball Team and awards, and Brooke Hammonds of Union is the Player of the Year.
The awards were voted on by the women's basketball coaches in the league.
This is the second year in a row Hammonds was named the Player of the Year.
The other individual award winners include Marta Gimenez of Point as the Defensive Player of the Year, Jaycie Jenkins of Milligan as the Freshman of the Year, Abi Haynes of Reinhardt as the Newcomer of the Year, and Jason Smith of Bryan as the Coach of the Year.
Hammonds averaged 14.2 points and 10.7 rebounds per game during the regular season as Union played 18 regular-season contests. She also dished out 74 assists to go along with 38 steals and 25 blocked shots. Hammonds recorded 10 double-doubles on the season.
