2022 Women's Basketball All-Conference Team and Awards Announced
KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The 2022 All-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Basketball Team and awards are out, and Gracee Dishman of Bryan is the Player of the Year.
The awards are voted on and selected by the women's basketball coaches of the AAC.
The other individual award winners include Kaitlynn Hennessee of Bryan as the Defensive Player of the Year, Jacelyn Stone of Tennessee Wesleyan as the Freshman of the Year, Samantha Russell of Bryan as the Newcomer of the Year, and Bryon Lawhon of Bryan as the Coach of the Year.
Bryan captured the AAC regular-season championship with a perfect 24-0 record.
Dishman is third in the league in scoring at 20.6 points per game and third in field-goal percentage, hitting 57.6 percent of her shots. The sophomore was deadly at the charity stripe as well, making 86.8 percent of her free throws which ranks second in the AAC. She also dished out 70 assists, had 22 steals, and two blocks.
