2023 Women's Lacrosse Tournament Bracket Released; Cumberlands Earns Top Seed
WALESKA, Ga. - The 2023 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Lacrosse Tournament bracket is set, and Cumberlands in the No. 1 seed.
Cumberlands locked up the top seed by winning the regular-season championship with a 7-0 conference record.
The tournament is set for April 20-22 (Thursday-Saturday) and is being hosted by Reinhardt in Waleska, Ga.
The top six teams advance to the AAC Tournament. Those teams are:
- Cumberlands (14-1, 7-0 AAC)
- Reinhardt (10-4, 6-1 AAC)
- Georgetown (7-8, 5-2 AAC)
- Montreat (7-5, 4-3 AAC)
- Tennessee Wesleyan (3-10, 3-4 AAC)
- Truett McConnell (1-11, 1-6 AAC)*
*-St. Andrews, Brenau, and Truett McConnell all tied for the No. 6 seed with a 1-6 conference record. Since the teams were 1-1 against one another, the tie was broken by a vote of the other coaches in the conference - minus Georgetown since it will play the No. 6 seed, based on the perceived strength of schedule. By a vote of 3-1, Truett McConnell was selected as the No. 6 seed.
As the top two seeds, Cumberlands and Reinhardt receive a first-round bye and advance to the semifinal round.

Game 1 - No. 3 Georgetown vs. No. 6 Truett McConnell, 11 am
Game 2 - No. 4 Montreat at No. 5 Tennessee Wesleyan, 3 pm
Friday, April 21
Game 3 - No. 1 Cumberlands vs. Game 2 Winner, 1 pm
Game 4 - No. 2 Reinhardt vs. Game 1 Winner, 4 pm
Saturday, April 22
Game 5 - CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH - Game 3 Winner vs. Game 4 Winner, 1 pm
