Week 4: AAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Autumn Matthews of Bluefield and Sam Aalbue of Montreat are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the fourth edition of the awards for the 2025 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 22.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Autumn Matthews - Bluefield - Sophomore
- Recorded 22 saves in a 2-0 loss to Brenau.
- Most saves by an AAC player since 2019.
- This is her first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Sam Aalbue - Montreat - Senior
- Posted a pair of braces as Montreat went 2-0 on the week.
- Scored 2 goals in a 3-1 win at Union Commonwealth.
- Added 2 more tallies in a 5-1 win over Spartanburg Methodist.
- This is her first weekly honor of the season.
