Milligan Captures 2026 Women's Indoor Championship
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Five meet records were set as Milligan won the 2026 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship.
The two-day event was held at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Thursday and Friday.
This is Milligan's fourth women's indoor title overall and its first since 2024. Milligan tallied 175 points to win the crown, while Columbia scored 129 point to finish as the runner-up. Montreat (119 points), Brenau (116 points), and SCAD Atlanta (47 points) round out the top five. Making up the rest of the field are Columbia International (45), Reinhardt (42), Tennessee Wesleyan (39), Pikeville (16), Bryan (13), Spartanburg Methodist (12), and Union Commonwealth (5).
Five meet records were set with Ellen-Mary Kearney of Milligan accounting for three of them. She set the marks in the 1000 (2:49.39), the mile (4:50.27), and as part of the distance medley relay (12:04.60). Helping her out on the relay were McKenzie Fitzgerald, Aleah Soderman, and Ana Canibano.

- High jump – Jennaya Coucoules (Brenau), 1.57 meters
- Pole vault – Adelyn Swogger (Columbia International), 2.65 meters
- Long jump – Kitson (Brenau), 5.73 meters
- Triple jump – Kitson (Brenau), 11.47 meters
- Shot put – Barnes (Montreat), 12.88 meters
- Weight throw – Doreshia McAllister (Columbia), 16.42 meters
Earning individual accolades were Carlie Osborne of Pikeville as the Freshman of the Year, Kaylee Coll as the Newcomer of the Year, Kearney as the Track Athlete of the Year, Emma Barnes of Montreat as the Field Athlete of the Year, and Madison Kitson of Brenau as the Most Outstanding Athlete. The Milligan coaches were named the Staff of the Year.
