Week 2: AAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Ellen-Mary Kearney of Milligan and Emma Barnes of Montreat are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the second edition of the weekly honors for the 2026 season. The next set of awards will be announced on March 30.
AAC Track Athlete of the Week
Ellen-Mary Kearney - Milligan - Senior
- Won the 800 at the Montreat Open.
- Crossed the line in 2:12.25, which earned her an NAIA 'B' Standard.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
AAC Field Athletes of the Week
Emma Barnes - Montreat - Senior
- Won 3 events and posted AAC Qualifying Standards in 6 events.
- Won the shot put, setting the school record with a toss of 12.88 meters.
- Also won the javelin (37.65 meters) and the 100 hurdles (15.18 seconds).
- Placed second in the high jump (1.47 meters) and seventh in the long jump (4.78 meters).
- Came in fourth in the 200 (26.31 seconds).
- This is her first weekly award this season.
