Week 3: AAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Heather Murphy of Montreat and Madison Kitson of Brenau are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the third edition of the weekly honors for the 2026 season. The next set of awards will be announced on April.
AAC Track Athlete of the Week
Heather Murphy - Montreat - Sophomore
- Shaved nearly 7 seconds off her school-record time in the 10K.
- Posted a time of 33:38.48, earning her an NAIA 'A" Standard.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
AAC Field Athletes of the Week
Madison Kitson - Brenau - Sophomore
- Won 2 events at the Emory Thrills in the Hills.
- Posted a distance of 11.89 meters to win the triple jump.
- Had a leap of 5.83 meters to win the long jump.
- Record an NAIA 'B' Standard in both events.
- This is her first weekly award this season.
