AAC Releases 2014 Volleyball All-Conference Team, Awards
KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference released the 2014 AAC Volleyball All-Conference Team and individual awards on Wednesday, and Taylor Fink of Bryan is the AAC Player of the Year.
Fink averaged over 10 assists per set this season, helping Bryan to an undefeated conference record and the regular-season championship.
Sam Croce of Reinhardt is the Setter of the Year, Ana Calaza of Union is the Libero of the Year, and Angelica Arroyo of St. Andrews is the Freshman of the Year.
Earning Coach of the Year honors is Holly Mandeville of St. Andrews.
Fink, Calaza Croce, and Arroyo also earned a spot on the All-AAC First Team. Joining them are Paige Moore of Union; Kara Stamper of Bryan; Caitlin Brickley of Columbia; Katie Gilstrap of Reinhardt; Meghan Lowry of Bryan; Jasmine Morrow of Bluefield; Marissa Langford of Milligan; Jessica Davenport of Milligan; Emilee Linkous of Milligan; Rachel Andrews of Union.
Making the All-AAC Second Team are Danille Pettigrew of Columbia; Ashley Ferris of Bryan; Madison Akins of Bryan; Ally Hurd of Reinhardt; Rachel Mosley of Bryan; and Kathryn Rogers of Montreat.
Arroyo headlines the All-Freshmen Team as Marissa Langford of Milligan; Marissa Elam of Union; Rachel Andrews of Union; Rachel Croce of Reinhardt; and Aurore Floury of St. Andrews all join her.
Landing on the Champions of Character Team are Kara Anderson of Columbia; Kaylee Bebee of Point; Shelby Grace Enochs of Bryan; Kirsten Henry of Tennessee Wesleyan; Emily Howard of Montreat; Chandler Gray of Union; Taylor Larkey of Reinhardt; Kayla Moore of Milligan; Mariah Hesbitt of St. Andrews; and Emily Smith of Bluefield.
In all, 64 student-athletes earned All-Academic Team honors with three schools (Bryan, Columbia and Tennessee Wesleyan) placing seven on the team.
