Week 1: AAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Katherine Perrin of Reinhardt is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week, while Sarah Sweet of Reinhardt and Ashlynn Barnes of Reinhardt are the Defender and Setter of the Week, respectively.
The league announced the awards on Monday.
This is the first edition of the awards for the 2022 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 4.
AAC Attacker of the Week
Katherine Perrin - Reinhardt - Grad Student - Roswell, Ga.
- Helped Reinhardt to a 2-1 record.
- Averaged 4.18 kills per set and posted a .333 hitting percentage on the week.
- Logged 22 kills and had 3 blocks in a 3-1 win over Keiser (Fla.).
- Posted 46 kills, 2 assists, 22 digs, and 9 blocks on the week.
- This is her first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Defender of the Week
Sarah Sweet - Reinhardt - Grad Student - Canton, Ga.
- Averaged 4.18 digs per set.
- Posted 46 digs in 11 sets.
- Registered 20 digs in a 3-1 win over Keiser (Fla.).
- Also had 13 assists and 6 aces.
- This is her first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Setter of the Week
Ashlynn Barnes - Reinhardt - Sophomore - Roswell, Ga.
- Averaged 9.91 assists per game in helping Reinhardt to a 2-1 record on the week.
- Posted 45 assists in the 3-1 win over Keiser (Fla.).
- Notched 2 double-doubles in 3 matches.
- Had 109 assists, 3 kills, 4 aces, 29 digs, and 1 block on the week.
- This is her first weekly honor of the season.
