Week 2: AAC Women's Volleyball Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Kira Rymer Attaway of Columbia International is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week, while Ella Maiden of Milligan and Melissa Campos Soto are the Defender and Setter of the Week, respectively.
The league announced the awards on Monday.
This is the second edition of the awards for the 2022 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 11.
AAC Attacker of the Week
Kira Rymer Attaway - Columbia International - Senior - China Grove, N.C.
- Averaged 5.90 kills per set and posted a .552 hitting percentage as CIU went 4-0 for the week.
- Recorded 24 kills in a 3-0 win over Faulkner.
- Also had 2 service aces, 9 digs, and 4 blocks.
- This is her first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Defender of the Week
Ella Maiden - Milligan - Junior - Meadowview, Va.
- Averaged 1.13 blocks per set as Milligan went 3-1 on the week.
- Notched 17 blocks in 15 sets.
- Recorded 5 blocks three times.
- Also had 43 kills, 6 service aces, and 7 digs.
- This is her first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Setter of the Week
Melissa Campos Soto - Columbia International - Senior - Alajuela, Costa Rica
- Averaged 12.15 assists per set as CIU went 4-0 on the week.
- Posted a high of 42 assists twice, including in a 3-0 sweep of Faulkner (Ala.).
- Logged 3 double-doubles as she tallied 46 digs on the week.
- Also had 15 kills, 3 service aces, and 8 blocks on the week.
- This is her first weekly honor of the season.
